We need volunteers to be Poll Watchers during Early Voting and for Election Day!

EARLY VOTING POLL WATCHING DATES:

 

October 13-17 (TUES-SAT)
October 19-24 (MON-SAT)
October 26-30 (MON-FRI)

Early Voting will be at the Elections Board office in Springfield. 
Voting hours are from 9:00AM - 5:00PM   |    
Days will be split into 2 shifts.

The AM shift is 9AM-1PM
The PM shift is 1PM-5PM

We need volunteers for each day & each shift. If you would like to be a poll watcher, please fill out the Poll Watcher form below. Select any days & shifts you are available.

Deadline to sign up for Early Voting Poll Watching is Oct. 8th at 5PM.

 

We will do our best to schedule at least 1 shift for every volunteer, but we are only allowed 2 watchers per shift.

ELECTION DAY POLL WATCHING:

 

Tuesday November 3rd   |   7AM - 7PM

 
Days will be split into 2 shifts.

The AM shift is 7AM-1PM
The PM shift is 1PM-7PM

We need volunteers for each Precinct & each shift. If you would like to be a poll watcher on Election Day, please fill out the Poll Watcher form below. There are only 2 spots available per Precinct/Per Shift.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS:

 

# 1 - Increases the maximum qualifying acreage for assessment and taxation as bona fide conservation use property.

House Resolution 32    

​

“Shall the Constitution of Georgia, for the purpose of protecting family farmland, be amended so as to increase the maximum acreage to qualify for assessment and taxation as a bona fide conservation use property from 2,000 acres to 4,000 acres?"

 

 

# 2 - Provides for the nonpartisan election of all probate court judges.

House Resolution 251

​

“Shall the Constitution of Georgia be amended so as to require that all probate court judges be elected in nonpartisan elections?"

 

 

# 3 - Authorizes creation of Georgia Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund for 9-1-1 systems expansion, maintenance, and operation.

House Resolution 1243

​

“Shall the Constitution of Georgia be amended so as to authorize the General Assembly to dedicate certain existing revenues, including revenues reallocated by law, to a nonlapsing fund to be used exclusively for the expansion, maintenance, and operation of emergency 9-1-1 systems in this state?"

 

 

 

SPECIAL ELECTION:

 

#1 - 1% SPLOST

 

"Shall a special one percent sales and use tax be reimposed in the special district of Effingham County for a period of time not to exceed six years and for the raising of an estimated amount of $200,000,000.00 for the purpose of funding 

   (1) public buildings capital outlay projects, recreation capital outlay projects, roads, streets, and bridges capital outlay projects, vehicles and equipment capital outlay projects, drainage capital outlay projects, and technology capital outlay projects for Effingham County; 

   (2) water/sewer capital outlay projects, streets and lanes capital outlay projects, public safety capital outlay projects, city building capital outlay projects, and recreation capital outlay projects for the City of Guyton; 

   (3) water/sewer capital outlay projects, fire capital outlay projects, police capital outlay projects, streets & drainage capital outlay projects, recreation capital outlay projects, and public buildings capital outlay projects for the City of Rincon; and 

   (4) water/sewer capital outlay projects, parks and recreation capital outlay projects, public safety capital outlay projects, streets and drainage capital outlay projects and city buildings capital outlay projects for the City of Springfield?

If reimposition of the tax is approved by the voters, such vote shall also constitute approval of the issuance of general obligation debt of Effingham County, Georgia in the principal amount of $100,000,000.00 for the purposes of funding all or a portion of any of the Projects described above and capitalized interest on such debt."

 

#2 - Local Homeowner's Incentive Adjustment Program

​

"Shall a local homeowner's incentive adjustment program be established for Effingham County pursuant to House Bill 439 and Chapter 89A of Title 36 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, for the purpose of reducing the tax burden upon qualified homesteads within Effingham County?"

 

 

SPRINGFIELD ONLY SPECIAL ELECTION:

 

#1 - Authorization of Redevelopment Powers Law

 

"Shall the Act be approved which authorizes the City of Springfield, Georgia, to exercise all redevelopment powers allowed under the 'Redevelopment Powers Law,' as it may be amended from time to time?"
